June 25 | May I have the Pleasure of this Dance? From the Ballroom to Hell!

On March 6, 1865, Washington, D.C. hosted Lincoln’s Second Inauguration Ball. Drawing from the New York Times, Nancy Walker and Jef Savage (Danza Antiqua) will provide a vivid description of the ball, its infamous food fight, discuss how the ballroom served as a microcosm of societal politics and perform two dances from the ball in period clothing. Guests can join in a parlor game and a group dance.
